在皮帶輸送機運行前，首先（xiān）要確認皮帶輸（shū）送機設備、人員、被輸送物品均處於安全完好的狀態（tài）；其次檢查各運動部位正常無異物，檢查（chá）所有電氣線路是否正常（cháng），正常時才能（néng）將皮帶輸送機投入（rù）運行。 最後要（yào）檢查供電電壓與設備額定電壓的差別不超過±5％。
在皮帶輸送（sòng）機運行投入，必須進行以（yǐ）下操作：
1.合上總電源開關，檢查設備電（diàn）源是否正常送入且電源指示燈是否亮。正常後進行下一步操作。
2.合上（shàng）各回路的電源開關，檢查是否正常。正常狀態下為：設備不動作，皮帶輸送機運行指示燈不亮，變頻器等設備的電源指示（shì）燈亮，變頻器的顯示麵板顯示（shì）正（zhèng）常(無故障代碼顯示)。
3.按照工藝流程依次啟動各電（diàn）氣設備，上一個電氣設備啟動正常後(電（diàn）機或其他設（shè）備已達到正常速度、正常狀態)再（zài）進行下一個電氣設（shè）備的啟動。
4.在皮帶輸送機（jī）運行中，必須遵守被輸送物品設計中物品的規定，遵守皮帶輸送機的設（shè）計能（néng）力。其次，要注意各類人員不得（dé）觸及皮帶輸送機的運動部分，非專業人員不得隨（suí）意（yì）接觸電氣元件、控製按鈕等。 最後，在皮帶輸送機（jī）運行（háng）中不能對變頻器後級斷路（lù），如確定維修需要，則必須在停止（zhǐ）變頻運行的情況下才能（néng）進（jìn）行（háng），否則可能損壞變頻器。
5.皮帶（dài）輸送機運行停（tíng）止 ，按下（xià）停止按鈕待係統全部停止後方能切（qiē）斷總電源。
