在冶金、礦山及化工等企業應用的螺旋輸送機，其軸端壓蓋廣泛采用填料密（mì）封。由於煤粉粒（lì）度為200目，呈細粉狀，並有一定的流動性，因此常因輸（shū）送機的頭部軸端密封不嚴，泄漏許（xǔ）多煤粉。用過石棉盤根、油浸羊毛氈、油浸石棉繩及（jí）柔性石墨環等作為密封填料，但治漏效果均不理想。每天設備周圍都泄漏出煤粉，既浪費，又汙染（rǎn）環境，影響文明生產。
在輸送機上作（zuò）試驗，即在頭部填料壓蓋的法蘭外圈上鑽（zuàn）通孔、攻絲、加裝油嘴，在壓（yā）蓋孔壁內加工兩條油槽（cáo）與油嘴孔連通（tōng）。用黃油槍從油嘴處壓（yā）入潤滑脂（zhī），並使之進入油槽，填滿旋轉軸表麵與壓蓋（gài）內孔間的配（pèi）合間隙，原有的石棉盤根保持不變，這種結構（gòu）使煤粉經過多次密封，達到了良好的密封效果。經現（xiàn）場試驗，加（jiā）裝油嘴的輸送機明顯（xiǎn）的優於未改造的。
通過實踐證明，這種方法是行之有效的，可（kě）延長螺旋軸使（shǐ）用壽命（mìng）。但尚需注意以下兩點：
1.壓蓋內必須每3—4天加注一次潤滑油脂，否則油（yóu）脂消耗完或者幹涸仍會泄漏煤粉。
2.在每次裝拆（chāi）後，開（kāi）機運（yùn）行一（yī）個（gè）月左右需（xū）擰緊壓蓋螺檢，使盤根與軸緊密貼（tiē）合。但不（bú）必壓得過緊，以後可（kě）根據實際情況（kuàng）調正壓蓋螺栓。

Proved by practice, this method is effective, can prolong the service life of the spiral shaft. But still need to pay attention to the following two points:
1 gland must be every 3 to 4 days with a lubricating oil or grease, consumed or dry pulverized coal will still leak.
2 at the end of each assembly and disassembly, start to run a month need to tighten gland bolt, so that the packing and the shaft tightly. But need not be pressed too tight, then according to the actual situation of adjusting cap bolt.
